Holy injustice, Batman!

Ok, so I've been a bad little lj-er lately. I checked my info, and I haven't updated in 11 weeks. Having not updated in so long, it felt kind of weird about just randomly updating with, "well, I went to class today, got a chai at the coffee shop in the Health Professions Building, and came home to take a nap and blah blah blah," so I refrained from updating.

While flipping through the channels today, I came across an interesting news story. Words cannot express my disgust, resentment, and general frustration I feel toward this.

No one died. It's not about the war or the president or anything like that. It's about Google.

Yes, this is an INCREDIBLY random thing to read, especially if you have no idea what I'm talking/typing about, so allow me to explain: Google is a whore.

Allow me to explain further:

Google recently launched it's newest member of the google family, google.cn. Normally, I would think this was great; I'm all about exposing more people to information and communication opportunities.

This was not the case today. Why? Once again: Google is a whore.

Google is CENSORING google.cn in accordance with the Chinese government's policies. This makes it easier for the Chinese government to control what Chinese citizens read.

Example: The Tiananman Square Massacre and Taiwan's independance are FORBIDDEN SUBJECTS, as in ILLEGAL TO DISCUSS. This means that the information about these subjects and others will be drastically reduced.

Here is a full article on it: http://www.cnn.com/2006/BUSINESS/01/24/google.china.ap/index.html

I'm boycotting Google.

Day 6 of appartment life

The appartment thing is still going well. I'm still trying to master that whole forging for food thing, but I'm getting better. I have chicken marinating for dinner. Impressive, no?

Classes started yesterday, and they didn't suck, so life is good so far. However, I don't know how I feel about the whole 8:00 class thing. Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing. Not such a fun class, especially that early. Oh well. I have to take it, and I have Erica to keep me entertained, so it'll be ok.

In other news, in one of our multiple trips to Walmart this weekend, Josh and I discovered what could be the dumbest product ever created. Glow-in-the-dark sunglasses. Think about it.

I should stop being online now... I have class at 2:00, and may want to actually be prepared for it.

I'm a big kid now

So I'm in my appartment. Kinda weird....

I went grocery shopping for a few things today... I am such a freak. I have yet to master the art of forging for food... or buying quality produce at a reasonable price.

Brie and Jill are fun and I'm sure we'll get along well. However, some cars may get saran wrapped this yeah. Poor Josh.

*Malicious laughter*

Oh, so if anyone hasn't seen the evidence of an alien invasion in TC, you need to check out trilldax 's lj. There are pictures. It's awesome.

So yeah, that's it for now.

My brother and I just had an interesting conversation. Teenage Mutant Ninja Drag Queens. Think about it.

In other news, I've been back from vacation for about a week now, and my family is still getting along. Yay! Sometimes roadtrips make us want to kill eachother.

Also, I'm moving back to MP in less than two weeks. Everyone has an open invitation to visit my apartment!

One of the dumbest movies ever filmed is 'The Beautician and the Beast.' And I'm watching it right now. I desperately need a life.

Mmm... thrifting

Whitney and I had an exciting thrifting date today.  Last night, my dad told me he had to do some weird skit for work (Frito Lay people are freaks), and he had to dress up as a cheesy game show announcer, so he asked me to see if Goodwill had any plaid pants or anything like that in his size.

I we found him a pair of dark purple pants. And a hideous tie that almost matches them.  Definitely worth the $5.30 I paid.

I also got myself a Louie Armstrong record album (50 cents!) and a sexy pair of black stilletos for $3.00.  They're a little snug, but they were too hot to pass up. Yay for impulse buys!

Also, Whitney got an awesome pair of red old-man pants. Good stuff.

Then we went out to lunch and over to Espresso Bay. Both Goss girls were working, oh, and Lindsey, if you read this, will you tell Alison I do actually know her name? I really should stop calling her "Little Goss"...

Does anyone want a Gap friends and family coupon? I have like 10 to give out yet, and I'll definitely mail one to you if you want.  Let me know!

I think that from now on, whenever I have writer's block, I'm just going to watch "The Hunt for Red October," because apparently that movie motivates me to finish research papers.

In other news, I got a new coat today.

The end.

I had a dream last night that the apartment I'm moving into in the fall was haunted, and the ghost/s in my room were violent.

Not so cool.

I really need to not leave such random, short entries.
